We operate out of 3 stations that protect a combination of residential, commercial, and rural areas. We have 7 fulltime firefighters and 27 paid-on-call firefighters. Station 1 in the Village of Dexter is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Station 2 in Dexter Township is on N. Territorial Rd., near Madden Rd. As of December 28, 2010 Station 2 is now staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days aweek.The Dexter Area Fire Department protects all of the Village of Dexter, all of Webster Township, 85% of Dexter Township, and 20% of Lima Township. That comes to about 75 square miles with a population of just over 25,000 people and is growing fast. Station tours are welcome, for groups please call in advance.
